Hello Will Too much crimp affect the accuracy in the Ammo? I would post some pics but im not sure how. Also I have been loading for my 686, ive used xtream plated bullets and loading 38spl. My point of impact v/s point of aim is high left about 1 1/2" . But with factory ammo point of aim is on, i was using 130gr win factory but the reloads are 158 gr. Can anyone advise?
Thanks

Yes it will affect accuracy. However I would be more concerned about it raising pressure.

With plated bullets too much crimp will expose the soft lead core of the bullet.

Can get leading of the barrel, which is why you might of chosen plated over cast bullets in the first place.

You need a light crimp with plated bullets.

Different loads/bullets will shoot to different points on the target. Why adjustable sights are popular.

We need clear pics to offer other than general help.

Your point of impact with heavier recoiling loads is normal.  The impact to the left is probably related to recoil and your trigger manipulation; try putting a little less of the tip of your finger on the trigger to pull the shot the right.

Thanks, The less finger on trigger worked, I had to adjust the sights to comp for the load but they are great. 4" 686 is about 1MOA at 15yrds
