After sitting on the fence a long time, I took the plunge. Ordered my AP5 today with a few spare mags.

Fun stuff! I picked mine up from my local FFL about a week ago. It came from Atlantic Firearms. It eats everything.

They both eat everything I feed them. Hollow Points & Remington 147gr flat nose. They are extremely Accurate also. ETA: Congrats OP. |

My AP5P is actually quite good. I swapped out the extractor for HK unit and it runs great. Omega 9k is the heat with it.

Did you go full size?
I was just shooting mine this weekend testing new loads with blem 124 HST slugs. I have thousands and thousands of rounds through my fullsize AP-5. It is without doubt one of the most fun firearms I have ever shot! I just love this thing. I have done SBR with mine, HK Navy trigger housing, Obsidian 9 suppressor, fixed and collapsible stocks, Cadex Defense railed forearm, Streamlight weapon light, Midwest low mount rail and quick disconnect mount for the Aimpoint PRO I have on it. It has been pretty damn reliable with my cast lead reloads, both subsonic and supers. No problem with round nose FMJ loads, but it does not like my 124 gr truncated cone jacked loads though. Let us know how you enjoy yours! |

Mine still runs flawlessly after doing some minor work on them, using hk parts.
With the locking piece that came with them, they run cheap bulk 115 grain 9mm flawlessly. The 80 on the p runs 124gr smoothly, but not 115gr. I'm still tempted to try a 90 degree locking piece on it, but it runs smooth enough as is. I enjoy tinkering with things, so i had fun making them cycle hk smoothly when hand cycling. I still sort of wish i picked up an M when prices were low, but those days passed. |

Shout out to Atlantic Firearms. Picked up my SP5 today. Trying to pick up a new toy during my lunch break is always a 2 day event. The nics check always get approved about 15 minutes after I head back to work. lol.
Gun looked great! Nice finish, good clean welds and a trigger that is ok. Going to clean, lube and break in with some vintage Winchester 124 NATO ball this weekend. |

Great buy! I think my AP5 is one of my most fun / value guns.
After a stamp and an A2 stock, Ive got about $1350 in it and it goes it the range pretty much every time. I had to replace the ejector spring and the hammer though. |

I'm in the middle of RMAing my second one for a non-centered bore. I bought one, noticed it wasn't centered, sent it back, and my ffl checked the replacement and said it was off as well, and recommended sending it back as well. He also mentioned the trilug seemed out of spec or something.

AP5's are very good but if you run into issues with feeding I would recommend swapping out the extractor, extractor spring, and ejector for factory HK parts. I would suggest using only HK or MKE mags.
