How do I track my progress on NFA paperwork?
Everyone always know when they are pending or their approval date. I'm just curious. I'm excited though, mailed my first form 1 on 25OCT. Hoping to have it back by April fool's day |

"Pending" means that it has been assigned to an examiner. They probably have not yet actually touched the paper, but it is in their in-box, along with 500 other applications (they are usually assigned in 500-form batches).
So if yours in the first in the pile of 500, it can go from pending to approved in one day. 
And if yours is the last in the pile of 500, don't expect it to be approved for another month or so.

Hey Tony do you happen to know if there is a standard method to they way that they approve form types.
5320.20s, form 2, form 3 are handled at a different speed than form 1s and form 4s of course it seems (as we don't hear about 20.20s taking 4+ months)...was just wondering (of the most popular forms) if there is a way that they go through them that makes sense to mere mortals.

My check was cashed first week of July. I haven't called yet.
I am going to "STAND BY" and call in December, around the six month mark from when the check got cashed. One person has been on stand by for nine months now-
and he is an LE officer- so I guess it's just a matter of where in that pile of paper work your name is!
