Regular customer gave me a heads up he had an M1A inbound. Rifle shows up, as I'm logging it in, notice the sales invoice is not my customer, in fact, it's for somebody in New Jersey....good news at least...maybe, the sales invoice serial number matches the rifle I have in possession. So I'm waiting for the outbound FFL to figure out what they did, they told me yesterday they haven't sold to my customer since Jun.  My guy is being patient, just wondering if anybody else has had this fun? |

Last summer a dealer in Scottsdale shipped me a mint Sig P210 with a packing slip that had a frequent customers name. Customer (an ARFcommer btw) frequently buys high end HK's and SIG's. He said "Huh, didn't think I won this auction". He filled out the 4473 and took it home. About 3-4 weeks later, an ATF IOI in Arizona calls me asking if I have a Sig P210 with the same serial. I told him I transferred to a buyer. He said thanks. An hour later the dealer in Scottsdale calls me screaming about "muh stolen gun!". I asked why are you calling me and why did you ship a gun to the wrong guy? He just kept ranting and I nearly hung up on him. Turns out he was in the middle if his compliance inspection and had a couple of missing guns. He got confused because my customer had won another 210 in a previous auction. Idiot. |

He picks up around 30-40 guns a year, so I don't doubt that he was as confused as the seller. |
