Looking to buy my first suppressor this year, and originally was looking at the Gemtech Trek, but after doing some more research came across the Mini 4. This can will stay on my 11.5 BCM upper, I don't have any plans of swapping it between rifles so the quick disconnect dose not matter to me. Biggest factor for me are size, price, and weight. I understand that none of these cans will really be hearing safe. I am also a lefty so hearing about less blow back from the mini 4 appeals to me. I would like to keep this upper as short as I can. The trek is 5.7" long and is screwed on to the barrel threads, so that should bring the barrel length to 16.7" right? The Mini 4 clams to add only 2.8", but must also have a flash hider or break which adds 2.5", so I am assuming this would add a total of 5.3" to the barrel bringing it to 16.3" right? Weight seems a wash with the trek coming in at 17.3 oz and the Mini 4 with flash hider coming in at 17.3. Right now I am leaning toward the Trek, but the idea of less blow back makes me come back to the Mini 4, although the price of the trek is more inline with what I want to spend. Anything I am missing? (beside messing up by not getting a 30 cal can instead)

| I like my trek I have had it for two years now and have had no troubles with it. On a 10.5" barrel its pretty loud if you are shooting around anything that will bounce the sound back at you. If its wide open like shooting in a field its not bad without ear pro. On a 16" carbine its totally comfortable to shoot. |

I really like the idea of a dedicated lightweight SBR can. |

Get the trek-t, expensive yes, but one of the lightest suppressor on the market.

Mine stays attached to my mk18 upper which is fine as I only own one rifle, ppl with large collections prob would want to go with a QD. It a great suppressor i am very happy and wouldnt trade it for anything, its exactly what i want and need in a suppressor. keep in mind its not the quietest model out there, there are other models that at offer as much as 10db more sound reduction but it more than makes up for that in size and weight. The suppressor can unthread itself, sometimes as few as 3 shots and it becomes loose. However a drop of high temp loctite fixes the issue. |
