OK, to be fair, I'm using carefully loaded 147 grain Speers at about 930 fps. This is with a brand new Lone Wolf 40/9 conversion bbl. Very quiet, but wouldn't cycle completely or sometimes at all. Do I need more velocity, (990 fps?) lighter recoil spring, certain ammo, all the above? Anyone else have these issues and how did you get around it. I know, I need to break down, stop buying AR parts, get factory ammo, but I've got to get what I can before the next ban. Am I just too low on the velocity side? Does the bbl just need to be broken in some? I'd love any experienced help. My email:  [email protected]         Randy

Put a couple hundred rounds through that new barrel to break it in.Bumping your load up a bit couldnt hurt either. If it doesnt cycle after that try a little lighter spring. Also what glock do you have? Its not a compact is it?

I've got a LW conversion barrel for my Glock 35 that didn't run all that well the first time I took it out.  I came to the same conclusion - shoot a few hundred rounds to break it in and bring a light spring with me next time.

OTOH, I have a LW barrel for a Glock 17 that has run just great from the first time I put the can on it.  In fact, I tried the lighter spring, but went back to the factory spring.  It runs just fine with the factory spring and the gun / can was much louder with the light spring.  I believe it was unlocking too soon and I was getting a lot of noise out of the ejection port.  Also, I was getting a lot of gunk blasted back in my face with the light spring.  The factory spring took care of the extra noise and gunk.

Talked with Henry and another user, same setup and, yes it seems I probably suffered "premature non-cycyling". I think breaking in the bbl and, as recommended, using a little lith grease on the LCD will cure it all. 6 rds just wasn't enough to give the bbl a fair chance. Couldn't really get to the range. 200rds and I should be GTG. BTW, it's a G23 with the LW 40/9 threaded bbl. My only wish is that the bbl was threaded a 1/4" closer to the bbl. I know, the recoil rod issue. But my setup could go shorter, maybe not everyone's. SUPER QUIET THOUGH!   IT WAS LIKE SHOOTING MY .22 CAN......ALMOST.

A good smith/machinest could take care of that for you if it bothers you that much.Just make sure they dont go to far back(dont want any rod issues).
