I found this website: www.triggertamer.com and I'm considering purchasing one of these for my MSAR STG-556 rifle. Has anyone had any experience with these? www.triggertamer.com http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s62/raf32/delrin_OB9V.gif?t=1214706708 |
The Nato trigger pack is the same except for the little arm that the mag follower activates. Should have made no difference. I put a TT in my Steyr A1 last night. I did not notice an appreciable difference in weight but it seemed to crisp up the trigger (Which on my AUGs have always been pretty good.) It was very easy to install, took about 1 minute. Gotta love modular trigger packs....proof that God loves us. |

Trigger Tamers are nice but sometimes scary. When I installed one in my AUG it worked fine accept a few time. The problem I had, I would shoot my AUG 1 time and when I released the trigger for it to reset the AUG would fire again unexpectedly. Scared the crap out of me when it did that. It wouldn't do it all the time. I felt it was unsafe so I don't use it any longer. Anyone else had this problem? |
My concern is that the NATO stock was new when I put in the tamer (bought them at the same time) so I always wondered maybe if the springs were just a little more worn in I would have better results. I simply hung the spring on the standard pull notch instead of the cleaner notch and everything runs fine (too lazy to remove the unit altogether). As for the gun double tapping, I believe that is what mine tries to do, by trigger not resetting, I mean the hammer falls on the new live round and is simply not caught and held as it should be. I never had it discharge another round, but your mileage may vary. |

Check the post Aug Trigger MODS 1 and 2 It fixed one users problem with his T.T. |

I installed one of these in my AXR and it is the best thing ever. Breaks much crisper and as advertised about 33% reduced in pull weight. The first thing people said when firing it was (man the trigger sucks but cool firearm). Now, we will see what the comments are.
Check gunbroker as I got a second one there for alot less. Haven't tried it in my MSAR yet. |

There was a guy (Damn can't think of his name) that used to do custom trigger mods to the AUG triggers that were pretty nice.
You know like those of us that had to get used to single action 1911 triggers to Glock DAO triggers it takes a bit of getting used to the AUG, but it is a decent trigger. Still WAY better than an FS2000 trigger. |

When I bought my used A1 AUG it had a tamer with it, but like others have said my trigger would fail to reset over half the time. I replaced it with the standard AUG part and the problem went away. Hmm, Well I have yet to fire it, but I will report back once I take it to the range again. |

Ok, took the AXR to the range today to try out the trigger tamer and this is the best thing since sliced bread. WOW, what an improvement. The AXR was already my favorite gun and this is just icing on the cake. Much cleaner trigger break and exactly as advertised 33% reduction in trigger pull. I let a few friends try it who also got to fire the AXR before the trigger tamer. One offered to buy my AXR LE package w/ case, optics, etc. I turned him down. |

I've tried the Trigger Tamer on my broken-in STG & my son's new STG. After limited testing it seems to work fine in my STG but not in my son's STG. Perhaps a wear-in period is needed to function in the STG? More testing on my part is definitely in order...
