I am interesting in finding out more about some terms I have heard used about triggers and I think this is the best place to find out, I am sure I am not the only one with these questions so if anyone really knows it would be great if yo could share your knowledge.

What are the following terms:

1. trigger slap ( i know what this is but figured since it is related might just include it here as well for the benefit of those who do not kow)
2. stacking
3. creep
4. single stage vs. double stage

I think there are more terms related to triggers but I just can't think of any right now, if you know of an others please post here. Thanks.

As I understand it, it is when the trigger has been pulled to the rear & then gets slapped forward when the sear releases.

2. stacking
More pressure on the trigger pull the closer it gets to the release point. Colt Pythons are famous for this.

3. creep
Amount of movement a trigger has before it has pressure from engaging the sear.

4. single stage vs. double stage
Single stage has the same consistent pull thru its entire travel. Double has a different feel for the last 1/2 or so of its travel. It won't "stack" per se but it does have two distinct feels.

These anwers may not be totally or even partially correct, but its as close as I can get.

Definitions are close enough to get the idea.

What do you have to add to Bob's definnitions that he didn't cover?

I had better input to this thread than your little quip.

Would you prefer if I had said +1?

He added more to the discussion than you did.  This is a technical forum, so please refrain from this kind of conduct outside of the Bear Pit.  Thank you.
