Is a Troy or Sage the only way to feasibly use one of the red dots on a Socom II?  I am thinking of going this way because of the flexibility allowed vs, going with a traditional scope.  Thoughts?

I love the SAGE EBR, but I think the UltiMAK railed hand guard is an excellent method of mounting a red dot optic  on the M14.
The combo of the hand guard and an Aimpoint Micro optic sits so low that a cheek riser is not needed.

If you want a modern stock for your SOCOM the TROY is the best choice, better than the SAGE and JAE.
