What are the differances between the two companies? I'm wanting a set of TRu?ACUs in multicam. I can fint the Propper for $40 per piece while the Tru-Spec TRUs are $65. Is there a quality differance? Are they both Licensed Crye material?

Does no one have any comments on this or did I post it in the wrong section?

Plus the differences have been discussed several other times within the Tac Gear Forum.

Its a matter of different materials licensed by CP, used by each company.

Thanks I did a couple searches and all I came up with was a thread on cold weather Propper gear.

So they're both exactlly the same then? Why are the Proppers $25 cheaper then?

it's the different fabrics used. go to DSG Arms, order the ACU cut shirt for $30, and when you get it, feal it, and then you will see why it's cheaper.

when they started comming out, a lot of guys posted on how they washed them several times to soft'en them up.

Tru-Spec uses a 50/50 NYCO fabric which is more expensive than the 65/35 Poly/Cotton fabric we use.

Tru-Spec is more expensive but 50/50 NYCO fabric is lighter than 60/40.  Maybe something to consider, given you're in Florida.

And yes, both are licensed designs and the fabric is the real deal.

ETA:  For clarity, uniformguy is a Propper rep.

Oh, now it makes sence. I guess I may need both then. I'm glap the Propper stuff is cheaper since I'd only be using it maybe two months out of the year.

Ok well I got a suprise $500 bonus from work so I ordered the Tru-Spec. Which is what I wanted all along any way. I was just trying to get some one to tell me the Propper was better AND cheaper. Now I'll have no worries about color matching. Ordered the TRU shirt and a Boonie form Desert Deuce Surplus where I got my pants from before.

the real test will be some time next year when both Propper and Tru-spec can use the same fabric, and then you can do a real side by side test

but with all that "extra" money, go ahead and just spend about $30 on like a propper BDU or ACU top and try it out  as per Arfcom law you must get both

I wear the navy blue Propper Tac.U to work daily.  My department had issued both tru-spec and quartermaster navy blue bdus.  We had fade issues with both, quartermaster's fading to a purplish color after two months.  I asked for permission to purchase the tac.u myself and wear it in a "field test" at work with my K9.  The tac.u is comfortable as hell, hasn't faded as of yet (3 months in), and I even figured out how to roll the sleeves up and keep em looking good.  To give em a proper test, I wear the same pair to work every shift (14 days a month) and wash/dry them each day I work.  So far so good.....

Awesome, thanks for that in field review.

What breed of dog do you work with?
