True or False you can only "make" one NFA firearm a year(SBR, AOW,...etc) without being a licensed manufacture?

Well it seems that the class III people in my neck of the woods might need a refresher course on what is what. I was basically told that because I SBR'd my ar this year that I would have to wait till next year to SBR my gsg-5pk because I'm not a manufacturer.  This is 3 different shops here that told me this. They also told me that I couldn't get my AR lower engraved until I got my stamp back because I would be assigned a new ser. # which is also not the case.  Thank God for AR15.com!!!

I have heard that, but never understood the argument about engraving.  It is only your name and town.  I mean you could engrave that on everything you own, just as ownership rights (it would just hurt your resale values).

Nevertheless, in the previously mentioned year, I purchased a bunch of lowers, sent 10 of them out to be engraved (got a good deal on the engraving this way).  Then I filled out all of the F1's and went to the Sheriff and got all of them signed and 20 FD-258's printed.  Then whenever I had some extra money, I just dropped one in the mailbox....

How long does it take you to get your F1 back from your sheriff?

If he is in town, I drop it off at the station on my way to work and pick it up on  the way home.  For the very first NFA item, he did his own local background check and took about 2-3 days...

I sent three form-1s together. Got two back in 41 days and the third in 57 days. Now if I can the form-4 cleared.

These were in a trust.

Holy crap son. I knew that some sherrifs take a day or 2 but not a month!! Unless there is an unbelievable number of people requesting his signature or something else I dont know about, I would think something is wrong with that.

Lucky for me I get mine back as soon as he signs it. bout 3 minutes

The shops in your area are run by morons.  You can gather as many tax stamps in one year as your wallet will allow.

A manufacturer's license is for making firearms to sell.  There is no restriction on the number of firearms you make for personal use.

I definitely think there is something wrong with it when all you guys can get them back from the sheriff in as little as the same day!!!!The way the secretary explained it to me is that it goes threw a bunch of channels within the building and then the way I get it back is they have to send it to my current address. Just to add insult the Sheriff's Department is about 2 miles from my house all freeway! Oh yeah and the sheriff doesn't even sign it an under sheriff does. No wonder nobody around here knows WTF! no nevermind, a class 3 should know wtf.....

I think I'm up to 12 this year with 3 more pending at this very moment and 2 more waiting on my wallet. Someone needs to find a dealer who don't smoke the reefer.....
