If you use a trust for your NFA weapons, do you need to do the Citizenship form or is it something that you can include just because?

You have to file a 5330.20 (http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5330-20.pdf) certification of compliance.

Huh....I just had the local dealer file the paperwork and all they took was the Form 4.

I just found the ATF NFA handbook and you and the dealer are correct.  I just wanted to get to the source.  I'm about to send in another 3 Form 4's.

Mine got kicked back because I didn't include it and I was using a trust.Sent it in, was approved right afterwards.

Just send it.  The person who signs the form4 Form1 is supposed to include the Citizenship form.

It does vary what examiner requires it and what one does not.  Just fill it out. It takes 30 seconds.

It is so simple I always send it in just to be on the safe side.  No reason to cause a delay over something so simple.

I spoke with Sara Jones who does all the forms for Texas.  she stated that they are not needed and that they are discarded.

Back in the day when you never new who the examiner was going to be for your forms, it wa prudent to attach a certification.

These days, with Sara doing all of TX, its not necessary.

That's my .02 and my experience from many, many transfers recently.
