I'm a bit confused about trust names. I understand that the full trust name must be spelled out in the engraving. Does the ATF have any particular requirements for the name itself. Could the name of the trust be ABC RLT? Or would it have to have the word 'Trust' or even 'Revocable Trust' in it? |

Quoted:
My Trust is tytled # ###### Trust # ##### Trust, thats what got engraved. My Trust states that it is revocable in the Trust information. So if my declaration says: "This revocable living trust shall be known as the Jerz_Subbie NFA Trust" I only have to have engraved "Jerz_Subbie NFA Trust City, State"? |

Quoted:
The best name in my opinion is your last name and trust, such as "Smith Trust." No need to name it revocable living trust or any of that crap. It can still be a revocable living trust without all those extra works in the name. +1. Just make sure your trust documentation lists it as the Smith Trust. ATF wants the docs to match both the forms and the engraving. |
| No need to go to the trouble of getting a checking account. No one really cares if you or the trust pays for stuff. If you are really worried about who the payments come from just get money orders and make them from the trust every time you need one. They are less than a dollar at the post office. |

This is on the advice of my attorney. No offense, but I'll favor his thoughts over yours. (After all, I did pay him for this advice, and he specializes in trusts.) He did say that Money Orders are fine, but for the best audit trail should bad things happen, a trust account is the best idea. It's easy, and it's free. |
