It seems like there's three or four different kinds of small rifle primers from Tula.  Which ones are appropriate for plain ol' 55gr FMJBT .223?

Tx,
You should add what powder you intend to use to your question and what firearm. You will get better answers.

I believe the consensus on this is to you the small rifle magnum primers (part # KVB-556M). The other primers have difficulty igniting ball powders, such as H335 or WC844 or WC 846. KVB-556M appears to ignite these without issue.

I have some of the KVB-223 primers but I have not tried them with ball powders (I am using WC844, which is very similar to H335).

I have been using wolf and tula primers for some time.  I am loading AA2223 which is a ball powder and have had zero issues.

There has been a lot of discussion on what exactly is a Tula "M" primer and I have yet to see a clear explanation. I have read that the Tula "magnum" primer has a harder cup like a CCI mil-spec primer and is not hotter like a CCI magnum primer.

The problem with this is the fact that Tula makes a mil-spec primer too.

I have seen threads where people were complaining about Tula's and H-335/WC-844.

Does Tula have an official web site where they describe there products and their intended uses?
