Has anyone tried tumbling their brass in  tumbler with the SS media pellets DRY? Just curious if it cleans as good as a wet tumbler with SS media pin or pellets? Thinking of going to a wet tumbler but it seems like a hassel   going the wet route, draining and gathering the pins after dumping the water and pins. Thanks guys

Haven't tried it.  IMO it would be a dirty dusty mess.  You want a carrier (the water).  The soap helps clean and it and the water carries the dirt/stuff away from the brass.   The water comes out filthy!   Without it, it would all still be in with the brass ... unless you then had another step to separate the dry grime from the dry brass.

All you need is a media separator and some water to drain/separate the brass.    I lay thousands on towels on my garage floor in line with a simple box fan overnight, they are dry the next day ....... or I lay them on an old screen door in the sun during summer .... dry within an hour.   No hassle to me ... but to each his own.

first thing I found was a kitchen collander that fit securely on a bucket,or pail. Dump the clean brass and rinse with cold water and the pins will go through the collander into the bucket.
