I inherited a Turkish Mauser is there anything I should know or be aware of before I take it to the range? Should I take it to someone to make sure it is safe to shoot?  It seems to be in good shape and I do remember my father firing it years ago when I was a kid.

I shoot mine all the time, if your dad shot it, it's probably okay to shoot, but if you want to play it safe, take it to a reputable gunsmith in your neighborhood and have him check it out.
