Add me to the got "Sig'd" list. Brand new MPX Gen 2 and the effing screws on the sights came stripped. Was able to get the front sight off. Can't get the rear off. Haven't even shot it yet and looks like I will be calling Sig Tuesday to ship the upper in

And to think when I first got into shooting a decade ago, people put Sig and HK in the same category, above all the others lol

/Rant

Sig has pretty good customer service. I would be surprised that they don't just send you a replacement free of charge. I haven't had to have anything replaced yet with my gun but I personally have dealt with their customer service maybe 12 times in the last few months ordering things for my MPX and to replace a 1984 production P226 that finally gave up the ghost. I was treated right every time. And when ever someone told me they would call back they did.

edit. I see I got ahead of myself. When you said it was stripped I assumed you meant the threads. Try using a screw extractor. At least that's what I would do. They are a T25 head so you may or may not be able to pound in a T27 to get it out. When ever we have stripped hex heads at work I use a torx bit and pound it in and they grab tight. That's obviously not an option here but I figured I would share the tip for others.

Thanks for the tips guys. I was able to get the sight off by taking an allen key that was slightly bigger than the torx hole and pounding that thing in there. Then taking a hand vice and torqueing the screw out

Sig is sending me replacement screws, which I will just rebuild and sell these sights for a little side green. I have to have KAC sights on my rifles - technically pistol in this case I guess

I doubt Sig even makes those sights. I'm sure they are sub-contracted out. Not sure I'd go full retard on them for a striped screw in a sight. Can you drill it out?  I replaced mine with Magpul Pros. I didn't really care for the stock ones. They seemed cheap and bulky.

Oh I'm sure they are contracted out, I'm replacing them with KAC micros

I don't want to take a chance drilling it out. I also don't think it's going "full retard" though. They sell this junk as their own. I may try again tomorrow after putting some rounds down range. Honestly this is the only Sig product I'd ever buy and I was hesitant at that considering the Gen 1/Gen 2 nonsense. It was only cause how wicked this thing is in theory that won me over, nothing like it on the market. Obviously, not a Sig Snauzer fan here

SigJoe are you running the stock trigger?

Thanks for the suggestion

I've been running a S3G in it since day one and it's worked every time so far. My only beef with Sig on the MPX was how they handled the magazine and stock rollout. Other than that I love the MPX. KAC micros will be a nice edition once you get that stripped screw out.

I think sending in the entire upper just to have a stripped sight screw removed is a little overkill. You can get a "Screw-out" tool at your local hardware store, they work wonders, and you can always use it in the future. Contact them anyways for a replacement screw.

I believe they are made  by palmetto state armory.
