Gf started reloading in her apartment. I told her how noisy and dusty a dry tumbler could be. Her dad recommended a sonic cleaner. She bought a "ship to shore" brand cleaner and ultra sonic general purpose powder.  I believe this all came from harbor freight. Any have experience with this equipment? Anything to note or watch out for?

I recall seein a thread on a rock tumbler with little extruded metal bits as the tumbling media.  Guys were using some liquid cleaner and producing extremely clean brass

Skip the ultrasonic cleaner and just go to wet tumbling.

The little extruded metal bits are stainless steel pins, and are very wonderful for blinged out brass.

To start cheap, get a dual drum rock tumbler from harbor freight.

Various threads here describing the process.

Typically people are using water, a squirt of Dawn dish soap and citric acid (Lemishine).

I replaced Dawn with Armoral Wash+Wax car wash soap.

The amounts will vary depending on your water and tumbler size.
