Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I am looking for a ultrasonic cleaner for my suppressors. I have an octane and a sparrow. Thanks in advance.

It works ok, but babysitting the timer sucks. Still worth the money. Search for 20% off coupon to HF.

The Hornady Lock and Load Sonic 2L has 30 min cleaning cycles....less babysitting than other 3 - 8 min cycle cleaners.

What is the babysitting thing for ultra sonic cleaners?

Some cleaners have a short cleaning cycle...so you have to come back to the cleaner every few mins to restart.

It only runs for 5 minutes, at least mine does so you have to keep restarting it.

just a heads up be careful...I watched a few videos on youtube and some ultrasonic cleaners will take the coating off of the suppressor

What are you guys using inside the machine?

Plain water?  Simple green?  Lemishine?  Other?

I picked one up at hobofrieght but have yet to try it out.  Planning to use it on brass and cans.

The stuff my friend used that took the finish off his can was Lyman's gun parts cleaner solution.

I don't know what I'll use for my rifle cans.

I have the same cleaner as you ( which is absolutely identical to the Lyman cleaner that costs far more, and is the one my friend used). And the Lyman case cleaning solution works fantastically. I used the gun parts cleaner on a bolt carrier and it worked great.

I have a Hornady ultrsonic and the ultrasonic doesn't really clean the carbon and lead off very well. I've had good luck using a rotary tumble and stainless steel pins. They come out clean.

Purple power 50/50 is what I use.  Works well enough.  After baking the baffles of my Spectre 2 in 100% pure silicone the clean up is faster and eaiser, YMMV.

In my experience, a brush worked better and was faster. I want to try a stainless pin tumbler next. I just want to make sure I'm not going to round off the sharp edges of my click together baffles.

I've found the stuff from Hornady to work best.  I shot over 500subs this weekend through one of my SBRs and it was disgusting.  Bcg in for 8 min then wiped off it was clean.

Like others have said the carbon won't come off by itself but a while down is all it usually takes.
