Anyone heard of using just plain uncooked white rice to clean used brass? The guy at the local store told me that's what he uses in his tumblers to clean out the brass.
Sounds like a cheap alternative to buying the specialized dry media. Any input? |

But, can you eat the walnut shell afterwards? Obviously, rice provides added utility in this particular application. And, its tastes so good. I think I'm going to tell the wife to make some of that Varget flavored rice tonight. Perhaps something exotic, like N133 rice. That old time Finland flavored rice is a delightful side dish at almost any meal.

When I started reloading in the early 1970's rice was sometimes used. I have a vague recollection of once trying it mixed with rouge, though I don’t remember where I got that idea.
This was before the days of Petsmart and such. I works, but turns to powder pretty quickly. And unless stored securely it can attract mice and such. Nowadays I don’t see the point. |
