I've been shooting my PTR91-K in 3 gun competition. Just wondering if anyone else uses only the front sight to get a sight picture on close range targets. POA will be higher so you would need to experiment compensating at different ranges.  For me its MUCH faster to just put the target in the front ring than sighting through the rear. With practice I've gotten fairly accurate (not bullseye shooting accurate but "A-zone" accurate) at it out to 20 yards, any farther I sight through the rear.

Take a step further and point shoot, no sights.  Just feel.  Practice, and you can do man size to 35 easy.

I love the front sight, only fired HK91 three times in last three weeks (only?) but came off of shooting M14 in three gun this Summer and AK w/ dot this Spring

On one stage we had a lot of ports about 12" square    5' off ground engaging some targets at 15 feet or so

def took some shots w/ buttstock off shoulder looking thru that front ring and pulling fast double taps.       rifle was moving faster than I was...

That def. jumped out on first impression making fast double alphas

But I like my M14 rear sight better right now

Just got trijicon front sight for HK today.  I'll see how that shows up

when i mess around on the pistol range, all i use is the front sight, hits a few inches high, easy enough to compensate for.
