For anyone in C&R, there are recurring themes. One of those is " How much is this worth ". The site in the link gives at least a start to answer that question.

Do you know the source of his valuations?

And how often is it updated?  Things can change rapidly in the C&R market.  Anyone can put anything they want on their website; whether it's accurate and up-to-date is an entirely different matter.

For example, George Stagand's "Gun Stock Market" website tracks prices of Gunbroker listings to get a rough idea of the historical going rates for around 50 different categories of military surplus firearms.  And it's updated daily.

http://www.georgestragand.com/gunstockmarket/

With that site, we know the source, and we know how often it's updated.  Even still, there are some drawbacks.  Namely that there are some popular surplus firearms missing from the list, and the fact that auction prices aren't always indicative of current market value, as they can be thrown off by a number of different factors (overzealous bidding wars, excellent/poor photography skills, inaccurate/incorrect listings, etc.)  But it's a start.

As was said - it's a start -  with many caveats.

I did some more poking around on the page from the OP.  Look what I found at the bottom of the Help/FAQ page located at http://rangingthoughts.org/manowar/prices-faq.asp:

No wonder most of his prices seemed way too low.

So in that light, I don't think that page has much value in 2014, even as a starting point.  A lot has changed in 8 years.

I appreciate your attempt at helping, texashomeserver.  But this is just a good reminder not to believe things you read on the internet, without digging a little deeper.  Anyone can post anything they want on the Web, and there's no guarantee that it's accurate or current.
