I have an American Security 72x40 UL listed/fired rated gun safe that is no longer needed and I would like to sell it. I’m not sure if this is a model BF7240, it’s a composite style door with a roughly 1/8 steel body. The interior is in good shape, the door mechanism and lock are in good working order. The exterior paint is scratched/chipped on all sides (I bought it like this). The door also should come off to repair the lower hinge, the bearing surface failed and now it grinds when opening/closing the door. The problem is I’m not really sure what to ask for it, and I have people already interested in it. Would appreciate some input. Attached File Attached File |

I bought an older safe a bit smaller than this one for $475 recently It has an S&G lock, and given the age I would assume it’s made from American steel. Despite the issues it has I think it has more going for it than pretty much any big box gun safe and some of the current “American made” brands. |
