I recently acquired a preban Springfield National Match M1A. It is, I think, an early model witht a wooden hand guard. the serial number is 041xxx. It is in a bout 98% condition with the original box. What might this thing be worth?

For what it's worth the 2002 Standard, 12th edition puts it like this:

Poor- 250
Fair- 500
Good- 700
VG- 1000
Exc.- 1400
NIB- 1900

I've been looking on the net as well as locally for such a pre-ban and thus far the range has been anywhere from 900 to 1600.
Hey, From my understanding (or what I can remember from living up your way) isn't it one of those "evil" guns on the "list".... You know that wonderful document that CT has that dictates what the commissar deems an "assault weapon"

I haven't had any luck trying to sell my preban Supermatch for $1500.
