| I've got a 223 bug and I'm looking for one in teh HK style. I like Vecotr the company and wanted to know about their 223 rifle... I would (of course) throw as much BandT crap on there as I could (think stock, forearm, scope mount) so consider that too. I think in the end, It'll run me 2G. Any other ideas for that money in terms of 223 rifles (non AR or AK)? |
| I have a bobcat that is made with the same type of receiver and I have to say they are really close. If I can slap almost any stock on it HK and not and it fits snugly and doesnt rattle that is good. Then when I go to put a B&T rail mount on and it does the same, that is excelent in my opinion. You cant get ar receivers from mfg to mfg that are that similar in spec. |

Any thoughts?!?! The Vector Arms V93 is one sweet looking weapon for sure. I wouldn't mind owning one, but I have enough AR15's already and I hear the V93's are a little heavier gun for gun than an AR15. I think the UMP stock would look alot better on that gun than a telescopic Stock. It balances the guns lines really nice and doesn't leave it looking stubby in the rear. |

It's gonna cost me to outfit the rifle as I want, but I think I'm gonna start with a stock 53 and leave it at that, and then as I want to upgrade I'll do so. On reflection, I don't want a scope on this guy, or even need a rail (eep!), the stock stock (hehehe) looks nice too. we'll see. we'll see. |
You need to ask if adding these Swiss made parts will mess up the required US parts count. Vector told me that if I added the B&T parts (foreend and butt stock) that it would be illegal. I'm stuck with the factory butt stock since I can't find any US maufactures for a collaspable and I will have to use the Surefire forend for a pictinary forend. On a side note. My V-53 shoots great and I really like it. I have about 200 rounds through it. I'm been feeding it Wolf ammo. Cheers, |
IMO this is the guns major plus.
+1 on V93, VERY smooth running gun. I like the FH Rudd. |
ARUDD... is that a AAC M4-200 adapter on that rifle? |
CaptainKevinDarling - receivers not in spec  - not sure wtf you are referring to - twice nonetheless.  The only area that is a tight fit is the scope mount blocks when using a genuine HK mount. Takes a bit of pressure - however HK93 and 91's also vary and take a bit of fussing with. Stock slips on and off wiht ease unlike a CAI product that you have to drive off - rifles shoot very accurate - function well and Vector's customer service is great.

Stocks slip on and off with ease? Not the one I had. Buttstock insertion was best accomplished with a vise and a hammer. Same with magazines. Receiver shell thickness is not uniform compared to a real 33 and 93. That's the 'not in spec' I'm referring to. |

The M4 2000 suppressor works perfect with my V93. I did notice a little more carbon residue on magazines after shooting with the suppressor vs. no suppressor. I also noticed not as much gas blown back in my face as compared to the AR 15. I would say the V93 is comfortable gun to shoot with a suppressor attached. I'll post a picture of my V93 and M4 2000 later. |

I got one from a board member here that had the magazine well redone so it was in spec and magazines go in and out fine. The bolt gap was way too much at .660mm which should be causing it to unlock too soon and increase the recoil, but strangely it is not happening. Vector finally sent me -2 rollers which got it to just a hair above .5mm or just a bit out of HK maximum specs, but a full 1mm more than their max recommended. It still runs fine and has no symptoms of premature unlocking. It came with what are probably +2 rollers. Yes, it really came that wildly crazy off, yet it ran fine with XM193 and Wolf for the 400 rds before I changed the rollers. It has 1000 rds through it now with only one malfunction at around the 450rd mark when a friend was bumpfiring Wolf using a non-HK steel 40rd mag that had never been used before (anybody know who made those mags?). I think it was a failure to eject, but he had it cleared in less time than it took to write this sentence, and I just don’t know for sure. I reused that magazine at least a half dozen times after that but could not get another malfunction. The inside rear of the receiver is tight and the bold carrier drags there. I might have made it worse by adding a B&T mount there, but it’s too late to know for sure now. It does not malfunction so it’s not a problem I have to solve. The outside rear of the receiver is too big and it’s hard to get stocks on and off. Despite my problems it has never failed me and it has been a kick to own.  |
