Who has a versa max? And how do you like it? Both models here long and tactical.

Damn good looking gun! Have you had any cycling problems? They say it can handle any load with there new gas system. Haven't talked to anyone that owns one.

I don't own one but I have had a lot of trigger time behind both the standard and the tactical versions and I can say you will not be disappointed if you get one. They will handle any shell you put in it and keep on trucking.

Thanks, the riser is the alternate one that comes with the Tactical.

I've only had it a short time, but it's made it through a couple of matches and a few range sessions with zero issues.

I have the original 26" VersaMax (not Tactical) that's about a year old now. It's been a great shotgun and will run for you, as long as you are aware of its shortcomings and can overcome them.
1. The original VersaMax models had a design defect where the firing pin retainer would work its way out. I had this happen during a match and found out later that it was a design issue that needed to be fixed when the Tactical model came out.  That model fixed the problem so I had to send mine into Remington to get that problem addressed.
2.  My barrel did not shoot slugs straight. Remington sent me a couple of replacement barrels that did the same thing.  So, I went ahead and bent mine to shoot to POI/POA at 50y.
3.  Be sure to tighten and locktite the bolt that secures the stock to the lower receiver. It tends to work its way out.
4.  Currently troubleshooting an issue where the shell is thrown into the lifter but doesn't chamber. It chambers once you touch the lifter.  I'm thinking that the mag spring is worn so I've replaced it with a stronger spring and will see if it fixes the problem.

I love everything about my tactical exept the slug accuracy.  If you aren't going to shoot slugs at anything past 50 yards, I wouldn't worry about that either.  When you hear people say it's a soft shooting gun, they aren't kidding.
