Hey guys, looking for a little help. Decided to run the A5 set up on my SBR. The weapon is a 6920 which I had ADCO cut to 10.3" and open the port a bit. The weapon ran like a champ; upon installing the A5 I have began experiencing some failure to eject and failure to lock back. This will now occur maybe one malfunction every mag. I should also add brass ejects in the 1-2 oclock, as well as, the weapon functions properly suppressed. Trying to get some help.

The A5 buffers run different weights. Which are you running?

Maybe this is stupid...but if it isn't working, why don't you just go back to what you were using?

I had sporadic issues with the A5 as well and stopped using it.  I posted some details about 1/2 of the page down here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_543/258195_MK18_and_Govnah_specs.html

For a 'milspec' MK18 setup I run the same thing the military does.  Standard power spring and H2 buffer and have NO issues.

The standard A5 set up was designed for rifle length gas system and while it will work with shorter length gas systems, problems may arise.  For your 10.3", I would run a carbine system with an H2 buffer.

I've run an A5 on my MK18 for the past year and so far have not had any issues. What buffer are you using?

I'll let you know how an A5 does with a 11.5" DD barreled upper soon.  I'm waiting on my F1 to clear.

The A5 works on the other rifles I have.
