Anyone use the Rapid Assault Tactical MOLLE Plate Carrier Vest? Can anyone tell me if this vest is good or bad? I would also like to see pics of gear and plates in this.
Thanks. |

$50? I don't think you can buy shirts for that anymore. LMAO. I wouldn't expect much...

| I picked up a Voodoo "Deluxe" 2 rifle case at a gun show. I think internet price is around $120 but i got it for $60. It looked like good quality and heavy duty. I've used it twice, loaded with 2 rifles and some extra mags, and some of the threads are coming loose on the handles already. I've heard similar stores of there gear. I dont think i would buy anything from them i would have to rely on. |

I have had the 42" 2 rifle case for over a year now, and no problems. I have carried two rifles at once in it many times with extra gear in the pouches too.
So far I like it, but I'm not expecting any hard use out of it either. It's just a carry to the range case. |

I have one of their (I believe discontinued) packs. Great load management and the whole damn thing is covered in pockets and PALS webbing. It's really high quality material and I got it for $100 OTD. I love it.
Their 'tactical emergency rations' (i.e. their take on MREs) are actually pretty damn tasty too. Good camp food at any rate. |

Even my Tactical Tailor stuff gets loose threading from time to time- it's fine. Just take a lighter to it and burn off the threads before it becomes a problem.
I've got several Voodoo pouches they've held up fine when I roll around in the mud or when I go forresting through thornbushes... Don't mean to hijack, but can someone answer this: Voodoo/Condor/ModGear all seem to have the exact same stuff; are they sourced from the same place? [Yes yes, I know they're Eagle, DB, TT knockoffs... w/e] |

Yote, come to the ASC practical in Dec and I can show you first hand some of my Voodoo stuff Although to be honest, my main items like my Plate Carrier and Warbelt are still Tactical Tailor- if nothing but for that peace of mind. I plan on being there.I have a couple pieces new gear. Surplus stuff but little by little. |

I have bought a few Voodoo/GuideGear/et.al. items. In all instances they are pouches that will not be highly stressed. I would be very leery of buying a backpack or other item whose failure might be a big problem. I have no idea what the IR/NV signature of these items might be compared to GI (or equivalent top-tier) items.
I also inspect every square inch of everything that I buy, from whatever source, deliberately looking for defects and points to seal with a lighter. The Voodoo, et.al. stuff does pretty well in the construction defect/deficiency dep't; only a minimal amount of thread/seam melting usually needed. GI stuff is generally more needing of TLC, in my experience, while top-tier stuff needs little re-work at all––usually. tthere have been exceptions. The thing is, you cannot judge the quality of the components by eye. You can certainly judge stitching and quality of construction, but you have no real idea about how UV resistant the fabric might be, nor the composition of the thread used, and so on. The top-tier mfrs tend to use coarser-tooth zippers, which are generally more durable. I buy such items because they fill my requirements, and as sort of an experiment. I have no doubt that the top-tier equivalents are better made, but in some applications, top quality may not be necessary. |

Yup, I routinely stuff mine to the gills and tote it to carbine and tactic classes. had it for ~4 years now, dragged it to a half-dozen classes in that time. Holding up just fine. |

Got my 42" case today- it's good stuff. Don't knock it till you try it; and at $60, it definitely wouldn't hurt to try it. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/UCFencing/DSC01610.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/UCFencing/DSC01614.jpg Are you going to bring that case to the match? Thats exactly what I have been looking to get. I'd like to see one in person before I buy |
