Just bought a vortex pst scope and was wondering if anyone has ran one on there 50. I bought it for myDPMS 308  gun but was thinking of putting it on my AR50 to free up my nightforce to put on a bolt gun i use more. Any thoughts? Think it'll hold up?

The Vortex PST line of scopes are supposed to be rugged and have decent glass for what they cost. I have been looking at that model for awhile.

The last time I looked at what Vortex had to offer in the PST field, they were on backorder status only. I just hope that their PST models are more plentiful now.

I wouldn`t have a problem owning one ( Even running one on a Big Bore! )  after reading some of the reviews out on the web.

Might want to shoot them an e-mail for there input. Am looking for a scope for my 50 that won't cost a kidney. Let us know what you find out if you do contact them.

Vortex has a forum in the Industry section. So i have a question about it there. Will let ya'll know what they say. Im betteing theybsay no. Just to xover there selfs from any warrenty or legal reason but it seems like a well built scope. My only grip is it gets hazy at max power

The Vortex PST was on my short list for my 50 build. Decent glass, great price point and the word is it can take the pounding from a 50 BMG. I wouldn't buy any scope destined for a 50 unless the company will stand behind it 100% and Vortex is one of those companies. It breaks and Vortex will replace it.

This scope will work well on your 50 and you can keep both of your kidneys.  I love mine.

That looks pretty good. The price is definately right. Whats the furthest you have shot with this scope? What rings are you using? Thanks for the info.

200 yards so far...I'm having trouble finding a long range within a day's drive.  The glass is pretty good for the price and makes for a clear, crisp sight picture.  I used Burris extreme tactical mounts that I was able to get from SWFA also.  They have a great selection of mounts and goodies there.  They're built like a tank so they're on the heavy side......but hey, it's going on a 50.

I've been running a Viper PST 6-24x50 MRAD FFP on my Barrett 99 for quite a while.  They're extremely rugged, high quality scopes.

Man after all the looking and reading to see if it would work on my AR50 I started to like the Mil/Mil & the glass better and better so i decided to put the PST on my DPMS LR308 & a Leupold Mark 4 on the 50. I may change my mind but that damn mark 4 is a pain with mil retical & 1/4" turrets. So i figure since i shoot the lr308 more im gonna try it with an easier scope to read and adjust.

I had a vortex viper on my BA 50.  And it seemed to be off every time I took it out. In all fairness it could be the way it's stored, I have to break it down and lean it up in the safe because of the length so it may be getting bumped. I swapped it for a steiner that was on a Ar so ill find out. It may take a while because I don't shoot the 50 much, but I'll see how the vortex is working on my Ar in the mean while.
