Well I finally got my FN 2000, BUT to my surprise the muzzle brake has a pin? Obviously I want to either change the muzzle brake and or add a suppressor to it, I contacted  FN and they told me that If I remove this PIN it will VOID my warranty on my FN 2000? What is up with that, a muzzle brake will void my warranty?

Anyone know what is up with FN? I have several of their products, never knew that changing or adding to your muzzle brake will void a warranty, quite a turn off?

Any comments or feedback is appreciated, I still love it but wow this took the excitement out of it, is sort of like having a Ford Mustang Cobra and been told I cannot go over 55 miles an hour because it will void the factory warranty? get it....

thanks arfcom members....

Have you tried our FN forum here at Arfcom?

In order to remove the brake from the barrel you would need to drill/ cut it off.

Also, there is no way for FN to import replacement barrels if you break yours in the process.

My guess is that is why it voids warranty.

yes fn is weird they will sell military weapons to us but with restrictions, i had to chop a ps90 barrel for a customer of mine so he could have a cmmg 12" barrel, ruined a perfect barrel because it was pinned. also when ps90 came out they refused to sell anyone spare trigger packs becuase they were scared people were converting them to full

That's the reason I didn't buy an FS2000 or SIG 556. I want to be able to purchase spare parts. SIG's response was "if you manage to break it, send it in". I don't care how much pride or faith you have in the weapon, it's a mechanical device, it's going to need something replaced eventually. Your company may not be able to sell here 10 years from now, and I'm stuck with a broke weapon? I think not! My moma drowned them kids. Find another sucker!

Rant off: Good luck OP.

Brownells or Browning? Haven't seen them on Brownells site (doesn't mean they don't have them) but I know you can now get some parts via Browning. This wasn't the case when I was interested in purchasing one.

ETA: Browning parts info in this thread

I believe judochop meant to say Browning, as Jdb3 said.

Also, FN parts department will sell you some parts.

I don't know if you can buy hammer packs from FN, CMMG sells them, for a premium.

ETA: CMMG only sells p90 parts, my mistake

You can buy just about any wearable replacement part for a FS2000, however some of them are very expensive... for the record it's Browning.

If you have the money just buy a replacement barrel for your FS2000 and get it setup the way you want... threaded etc. These guys sell them:  http://www.hi-desertdog.com/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=109

Besides that way you can get exactly what you want...the twist, length, style(black/stainless), threaded...

Wow, good link on the barrels. Not FN but still!

About 2 months ago when I called Browning to order some other parts she was not showing the barrel as an available item.

Don't know if that's changed.

FN fs2000 barrels are not made in the USA and as per new ATF regulations cannot be imported unless as part of a complete rifle
