WTK: Springfield SAR8 Price Check
Wanted to know what a fair price for a Springfield SAR8 in very good condition is. The receiver is steel and is stamped "Made in Greece" The muzzle brake has been removed (threads were milled off under the brake) and the rifle has a wide forearm, standard butt stock and pistol grip. It has a brass defector and carry handle attached. If I do pick it up, I assume that I can install an Investment Grade Firearms "press on" muzzle brake. Thanks in advance. Thanks, Don-S1 |
| Well now that the Obama buying frenzy is over,it really is worth the pre-Obama price-1200-1300.The problem is that most shops don't want to face this reality and still think it's worth 16-1900 which is what they were getting during the frenzy. The last month I've really seen HK91s and SAR8s really sit with no interest because people still want the inflated/frenzy prices for weapons. If he won't take 1200 I'd pass because the way the economy is heading to the tank the odds are vey good it's still going to be there in 2 months or you'll be able to pick up another for that price. From what I'm seeing for weapons prices that actually SELL we're starting into a selling frenzy. |

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=182446730 $1200-$1400 is the norm outside of auctions Out here in Phoenix they've sold for as much as $2000 over the last 12 months |

Quoted:
That was the one at the Monroeville show today, right? I thought it was missing the safety switch too? IIRC, they wanted like $1800.00... Correct, it was at the Monroeville show. And it was missing the safety and trigger pack. The dealer always seems to be willing to deal, so I wanted to see what a fair price is for these. Off topic, but the show did seem very good today. Ammo prices were slightly high, but it seems like everyone realizes it is not worth its weight in gold any more. Thanks, Don-S1 |
