I was putting ammo onto stripper clips and wondered why my .30 Carbine rounds kept falling off my stripper clips. Then I looked at the stripper clip's spine and saw the National Stock Number for M-16 stripper clips. Does anyone know what is the NSN for the new-model stripper clip that does not come with the "spoon" or magazine guide? |

The National Stock Number did not come into use until 1974. It is doubtful that there are clips with a NSN assigned' Have you checked out ebay? |

You are partially correct. Prior to "NSN" introduction, there was the FSN or Federal Stock Number. FSN's are NSNs without the 00 or 01. for example: FSN: 1234-567-8910 NSN: 1234-00-567-8910 In 1974 all FSNs in the system became NSNs by adding the 00, which by the way is the country code for the USA. So to answer the OPs question, the clips he's looking for would have a FSN. |
