I am looking to add a stock to my AP5. I’ve searched but came away confused. What do you all recommend?

For comfort the A2 is king but the A3/A3F are nice if you value compactness. The B&T folding stock is kind of a middle ground between them, almost as comfortable as the A2 but can fold.
There's of course lots of other options too. Magpul makes a collapsing stock. There's a bunch of end cap adapters available too for AR or picatinny stocks. |

I'll second the B&T Folding stock (the shorter one, not the one shaped like the UMP stock).
I have tried out the A2, the A3, and an M4 stock adaptor, and keep coming back to the B&T folder. It has the comfort of the A2 with a bit of convivence in folding for transport/storage. Plus, it's quite light compared to many others. |

You'll end up getting all of them, as I did. My favorite for the full-size is A3 for packing, A2 for shooting.

I went a less traditional way.

The AC Unity A2 is cheap and works great, start there. Then buy an A3.

I went with the B&T folder on mine. It's been great.

A2 for shooting, A3 for photo ops

A2>A3>A3F
A2 for shooting, A3 and A3F for looks, in that order. |

The M(ag)P(ul)5--AP5 Review I like the Magpul as a budget option that still has the spirit of the A3. |

Don't forget the cheap A3 stock option if you're not interested in spending obscene money on something that isn't really all that comfortable to use anyway.

I have one on a C93 after I put my German A3F stocks on my MP5 clones. It isn’t as good as the A3F but it’s also a third to a quarter of the price depending on the market at the time. No shame in them at all! Personally, I’d probably say the A2 style is the best for shooting but I think the A3F is a pretty good in-between of the A2 and legacy A3 with its slightly better LOP. The B+T and AC-U side folders are pretty nice too, though the Swiss ones are priced high in my opinion and don’t really have the classic MP5 look. |

Another vote for the B&T folder. Very pleasant to shoot.

Bear in mind you likely need a U.S.-made stock for compliance.

I put this on my SP5 SBR. It's been perfect for it so far. I original bought this a couple of years ago when they were cheaper. |

I'm using a UMP stock on mine. Might add a A2.
