I'm in the process of setting up a milling machine and would like to build something from a parts kit that is not an ak. I would like to do some kind of sub gun ie kpp44, Carol Gustaf, pps41, but I'm having a hard time finding build information on anything. Does anybody know where I can find some build instructions or plans on something that is somewhat easy to build and has parts availability? Thanks.

Have you tried http://www.weaponsguild.com/ or http://www.weaponeer.net/

I glanced over that sight and had trouble finding any info but since looked again and am finding some useful stuff. Thanks.

Have you considered an UZI?

uzi
sten (indianapolisordnance)
suomi (tnw firearms)

uzi was easy, almost bolt together.  had to do one weld to put in a blocking plate.  Nodak did have uzi receivers but they are not carrying them anymore.  I believe that Mckay enterprises was the OEM for nodak.

Sten, get a parts kit from sarco or numrich, receiver / barrel / parts to complete kit from Indianapolis ordnance.  I haven't done this yet but will be.  More welding involved but looks easy enough to do.

Suomi is what I am doing next.  A couple of cuts with a dremel (or a mill), some basic welding, and you have a gun.  Check out Tnw firearms, they have a full kit to do it.

I dont have a mill so this is what interested me.  On the weekend I pretend to be a welder.

I'm doing a Suomi right now, albeit Slooooowly. The receiver is a tube and can be mostly done on a lathe, with some milling of the ejection port, mag well, and trigger openings. There are several ways to build it, it can be built with a quick replacement barrel which requires milling locking lugs on the front of the receiver.

Find and buy " Shotgun News Gunsmithing Projects"

It's a bargain for less than $20 and has dozens of project gun builds from parts kits, step by step, and a wealth of other home gunsmithing information.  There's a cool scratch built 9mm tubegun carbine I'd like to do one day.

It's available at Amazon and sometimes on eBay.

Granted they can be expensive, even more so to feed.  But if you are looking for a simple project to build, that will allow you to use your mill, might consider a 1919A4 with a 80% right side plate.
