I want to cut my Mossberg 500 barrel down to 15 inches. I read the NFA stuff and just wanted to make sure that i only needed FORM 1 for this.

Please correct me if im wrong!

You will need two copies each of ATF Form 1, fingerprint cards, and Certificates of Compliance.

You can download the Form 1 and the CofC here.

Your local CLEO should have the fingerprint cards. Just make sure you put the proper info in the block marked ORI. It should read: DCATF0100, ATF-NFA, Washington, DC.

One is for ATF to keep on file, the other gets mailed back to you.

on the form 4 it asks about a pic...what are the requirements for this pic?

and if you send in the paperwork and there is something that is incorrectly filled out...do you lose the $200?

The pic should be a standard passport photo. Most camera shops, or even many drug stores with photo processing counters will do them for about $10 per set of two.

If you fill a Form out incorrectly, your BATFE examiner will send the form back with instructions on what you need to change. You just make the changes and resend the form, with no need to cut an additional check.

Just to wet your whistle...........

FYI: Factory Mossberg SBS's use apox' 1 inch shorter slide assemblies, so 15" is probably as short as your going to get..............Udog

WOW...i love the set up...and you are right about the 15in, i measured it and it looks like 15 1/2 is going to be the end product!

You can get a ton of info in the here on this sight. I know its for sbr's but its the same shit. I am waiting for my fingerprint papers from the atf right now. Soon as I get those it'll be at the cleos office (he will sign).
