Going to be reloading ball 690gr. and a few A-Max. 750gr. What powder IMR 5010 or WC 860. I know that the 5010 is needed for tracer ammo but the ranges wont allow it around here. Also anyone have a safe starting load data for what powder I should use.

H50BMG; check out Powder Valley.

** Edit just read your question **

I would say 5010 since it's not as sensitive to temperature variations..

Join the FCSA (Fifty Caliber Shooters Association) www.fcsa.org and you can learn more than you ever wanted to know about loading for and shooting your 50 BMG for accuracy, especially at 1000 yards.  Record 1000-yard 5-shot groups are hovering just below 3 inches center to center. Our annual World Championship is this week, July 4th through the 8th in Raton, New Mexico at the NRA Whittington Center.  I'm headed up there in the morning.

As for your load question, I prefer the IMR-5010 because extruded powder is generally more temperature stable.  I purchase my IMR-5010 from www.patsreloading.com in a virgin surplus state (not pulldown but from a new drum).  For a starting load, you will be safe with 215 grains.  I've run up to 225 grains with no pressure signs in my State Arms Shorty.  You  might be able to go higher, just depends upon the gun.  By the way, flat primers don't really matter when looking for pressure signs in a 50.  Main thing is to check how the bolt opens.  If the bolt starts to get stiff when opening it, you're load is approaching maximum.  Backoff a little at that point.
