I have a 16" Carbine upper and want to replace the front sight post with a thinner NM post. Bushmaster sells two different widths--.052 and .062. Which one should I get? Any other issues to be aware of?
Thanks.

Personally, I like the one available from DPMS; if you want small, it's REALLY small in diameter.

I spun one of my spare front posts in the lathe to bring it down in size. Then a dab of fluorescent orange paint.

I put the .052 NM post from Bushmaster on my M4 carbine. It works MUCH better than the standard post, that thing is HUGE.

I think the .052 is th way to go.
Just one thing Jus228, is the skinny post now swimming in the big ole ghost ring? Is it hard to get a repeatable sight picture?

I put A1 front posts on all my 20" rifles. The A1 is thick at the bottom, but comes up to a fairly thin point. Much more accurate for me than the thick A2 posts.
Anyone know why they changed the front sight post from A1 to A2?

The A2 front sight post is supposed to cover a human torso across the shoulders at 100M (I think).
