Which HK 93 clone is best for reliability, Century C93 or Vector V-93?  I know Zenith is bringing the Z-43 as well but I havent seen any yet.  Thanks!

I have had two C93s. One is on consignment because I bought a genuine HK93.

They were reliable and accurate enough, but the fit and finish was not as good as the real deal, understandably for the price difference between $700 and $2200. An example, on the C93 the cocking lever was a bit sticky, whereas on the HK93 it was smooth as butter. The C93s do have 1/7 vs the vintage 1/12 barrel on the HK93, some would see that as an advantage. Since I shoot mainly 55gr it is not an issue for me.

The welds on the HK93 are neater, the grip and trigger housing is also nicer on the HK93 since they are German made and the C93 has an American made part for that because of 922r. Some mags like the surplus aluminum mags and promags don't lock in place as well with the C93 vs the actual HK93, but the new steel HK mags work fine in both.

Overall I would say if you want to try an HK93 style rifle, but don't want to spend thousands, the C93 is not a bad value for the money. I love the HK93 platform, so for me it was worth it. They are so heavy there is almost no recoil, makes rapid follow up shots very easy.

I have no experience with the Vectors, etc, have read both good and bad reviews.

Hope that helps.

I have had a C93 for just shy of six years. Decent rifle for the price I picked it up for back in 2010. Smooth shooter, had a few kinks to work through at the front end. But now it's a champ that runs great on cheap steel-cased ammo.

I can't speak for Vector, but I do own a Zenith Z-5P that is waiting on an its Form 1 to come back. The Zenith is very clean in welds and finish. Great little shooter too, chugs through cheap steel and brass as well. I have been eyeballing the Zenith rifles a bit, but then they are a bit pricier than a C93.

My vote is on the C93 if you're just trying to figure things out and want to shoot cheap ammo through with minimal expectation of tight groups. The Zenith would be a bit more of an investment, however I can't say what your resale potential would look like.

C93 are great for the price.  however some have problems.  I think the twist in the C93 is 1:9.  The twist in the Vectors is 1:12

I have a C93 and love it. I would say if you can inspect beforehand AND know what do look for the C93 is a good way to go.

I have had 2 Vectors (one had a bent barrel and the other was its replacement), both were shit and couldn't shoot. Vector ended up ignoring me and not making good on the rifle. So I would say get a C93 or anything else but a Vector.

C93.  Besides the small percentage you hear about online they are excellent.  The few I have personally seen or owned were great quality. Vectors are the only competition and are still twice the price and no better quality, depending on a perticular gun to gun basis often less build quality.  Zeniths are most likely high quality and well built based on the MP5's  but the price will reflect it.

In the 5.56 HK clone world Century is the best deal by far especially for a 53 clone. If the name or collectability is the most important part then buy an original.

I'd hold off and shop around EE or armslist for a c93. I managed to pick one up for $450 used FTF.

Does anyone know if Century is still making the C93 pistols?

Might like one for an SBR

ETA - Zenith is working on a 9" model. So they say. they said they'd know more in 60 days or so they hope.

As for which? If oyure going to gamble, gamble with a C93. At least they are still around. My V93 is nice, and fine, but I wouldnt buy one over a C93 sicne century is around.

If you want great support, and a super nice non clone but contract gun? Get the Z43 rifle.

I have one of the Zenith Z43P pistols that is pending a form 1 to become a HK33K clone. Atlantic shows the full size Zenith HK93 clones as due any day now.

Benefits of the Zenith compared to a Century are that it comes from the factory with three modern polymer mags (and it accepts all HK and variant mags without modification), it comes with a top rail adapter, it is a push pin lower, it has the newer large charging handle, etc. etc.

You definitely get what you pay for with the Zenith clones. The only gripe I have against the Z43P is that it comes with older slimline and SEF furniture... but that is more of a personal qualm than an actual issue.

They no longer make the C93 pistol. Not for a couple years. They seemed to sell well so I am not sure why exactly they stopped making them.  The few you see for sale used are going in the $900 and up range now and climbing closer toward the typical HK53 clone prices quickly. Probably a good investment if you can still find one at a cheap price.

I had my DS Arms HK33 parts kit built up on a Vector93 receiver, and it has given me years of trouble free shooting. Only thing that is a real drawback in my opinion is the price of spare magazines.

My parts kit looked like total crap when I got it, but with some invested time and patience it cleaned up quite well.
