I am going to buy an OTF Auto soon, and although I would normally follow the ARFCOM rubric of "get both" that wonn't happen immediately.  So which should I get?

Benchmade Infidel?  I have several Benchmades and like the product and this is a very good looking knife.

Microtech HALO?  Good looking and has the "24" cache, but other than that I know virtually nothing about it.

Educate me, vote, help me decide oh mighty ARFCOM.

I have both.

The HALO was first on my list because:

1. It's a Microtech
2. It's the most evil looking OTF I have seen.

The HALO has the cool factor, but if you are looking for a carry knife, the Infidel is better suited. The Infidel has almost no chance of going off in your pocket, comes with a clip, and has Benchmade's quality and customer service. It's a moot point for me since Auto's are illegal in Indiana. Both of my babies rest in their case in my office while a carry a Microtech SOCOM or Mini-Socom (both manual versions) with me.

The HALO does kick like a pissed off mule and locks up tighter than any OTF out there. If you get one first, be careful. You will judge all other OTF's based on the HALO.

Whichever you decide, check out Microholics.org. I bought my HALO and my Infidel there.
