[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Which scope for Rem 700P?

I am purchasing a Remington 700 Police in .308 soon, and am looking to buy a scope in the $300 range, $350 tops. Preferably a variable in the range of 4-10 or 4-12x, but I'm open to all recommendations. I will be using this mainly for having fun at the range.

I have a Nikon Buckmaster on mine. It works ok. Im new to the whole precision shooting thing, so I cant say if it is a great scope or not since I havent used it more than 60 rds or so, but I like it.

i have one, and i paid 329 for it, absolutly love it, i have it on a 700 in .30-06. it is a 4.5-14 x 40 great scope
