I'm beginning my trip into the land of NFA items, and a suppressor is on my horizon. It will be primarily mounted on a 10.5 Spike's Tactical upper, but I also have a 20" and 16" AR that may also see use with it. I am fairly familiar with Surefire, AAC and Gemtech, but am unsure which offering from them or elsewhere, will best fit my criteria. I'm looking for, 1. Quick attach/detach ability 2. Minimized length 3. Minimized weight I'm confident that criteria makes for a fat price tag... So for the sake of education, what fits that bill regardless of price, and what comes close if I attempt to be price conscious?
I appreciate any input. Thanks! MF |

MF,
You're best bet (for meeting your criteria) will be the AAC M4-2000. It's an outstanding 5.56 suppressor!!! MSRP is $1050 (our price is way below that). If you'd like to keep the cost down, then the YHM Phantom 5.56 SS/QD is a good option. Our discount price is $525. Bryon |

I suggest you wait until after the SHOT show in January.....I have a feeling some cool new cans are soon to be released. I know what every manufacturer is bringing out at SHOT and I can tell you for a fact - there are "some cool new cans" a comin'!! Bryon |

Bryon I am acutally looking for a can that will shoot 5.45 and 5.56. Will a 5.56 fit the bill for both? Are there any cans under $1,000 that make it quiet? By quiet I mean shoot without ear protection and not annoy the neighbors. Are there any 5.56 cans that do that regardless of price? |

Unless you are sitting on 40 acres or more. 5.56 is hard to suppress. And I'd suggest getting a 308 can. I'm planning on using one primarily on my 308 and 6.8 SPC but secondarily on a 5.56. -David Edgewood, NM |

I can't wait until SHOT show to see what's coming out. I've already got my heart set on the new SDN-6, but I'm curious to see what else will be coming out. I know a lot of people were looking forward to the Volks, hopefully they start selling those this year. Unfortunately, the 762-SDN won't be out "on the streets" until after SHOT Show anyways. Bryon |

I talked to another stocking dealer and he told me if I was interested in the minis and micros to wait until SHOT as the newer ones will be better. I'm not interested in one right now, but if they can make em lighter and/or better sound reduction, that's always a good thing. I keep hoping AAC releases something akin to their "Runt" which I've seen mocked up online. |

What is a good can for that and what is the price range? Thanks, Burn-z |
