Did not know that ruger sends front sights without the roll pin hole drilled out. I just banged on the front sight for now. It came with a gg&g pic rail and the accustrut. Zeroed it the other day with a shitty crimson trace red dot. Is the gg&g rail worth a shit? Shot about 80 rounds without cleaning it, ran great and very accurate for a mini. I've only had pre 580 series guns, I plan on keeping this one.

Sorry to hear about P.O. mis-installing Choate front sight/flash suppressor unit. It's one of the best items out there, if
properly installed. This means NOT "banging" on anything.; Just installing things the way they were
intended to be installed. Mfr instructions are quite clear on how to install such items. NO "Banging" needed nor desired to do the job properly.
Dual-clamp Accu-Strut
definitely worthwhile on early "Pencil-barreled" Mini-14s. Mini-30s and later Mini-14s with later "Heavy" barrels likely not so much; individual rifles can vary.
Single-strut barrel braces probably not much good, as per manufacturer specific statements, so save your money and install a dual strut unit if you think it necessary.
GG&G products have a good rep overall, but that does not mean that GG&G items are the "best" items for the Mini-14.
I long ago gave up on receiver-mounted optics for the Mini and have used forward Scout Mounts from Ultimak on Mini-14s, M1s, and M1A rifles.
Never any regrets.
