Why are HK style SBRs several thousand dollars when you can buy a non SBR version for 1/3 of the cost?  Is the barrel not just shorter?  I am really confused when I see HK SBR conversion and non HK MP5 stlye semis going for 3-5K.  What gives?

HK barrels are expensive, it takes a top gunsmith schooled in HK weapons to change a barrel, because HK wannabee owners will pay any amount for something that is tacti-coollio

Well, perfection don't come cheap, thats for sure!

I dunno where you're seeing an HK94 for 2k, but TAKE IT. 94's are 3k and it takes cutting the barrel plus installing 3 lug fitting. OR you could install Hk/Urbach barrel, but you need a press to pop it out of the gun. THEN there is the flipper mag release, 0-1 or 0-1-F ambi pack and then a refinish cuz welding will leave some spots! And then there's engraving SBR Info and/or restamp MP5-N in place of the HK-94 designation (optional).

All that costs probably 1k. Then they tack on another 1k for those that don't want to wait a month or so to have it done.

You can get a Vector V53 (HK 53), and V51 (HK 51) both are less than $1500.

Neither of which are HK94s.
