Hey all; I just came into possession of a 3lb can of this Winchester 500HS. Opened it up and no funky odor. What can this be used for other than fertilizer and shotgun? I cannot find any load data.

No odor? I wonder if it has any value other than fertilizer.

It's reportedly very similar to HS5 and there is some info to be found with a quick Google search.

Is it worth the risk of trying it out?

How much experience reloading do you have?




I would probably use it by first googling loads, contacting Hodgdon and starting low and working up watching for pressure signs.




If your just starting, set it aside until you have a lot more experience reloading.
