I just bought a Winchester mixmaster. Serial number is 1,232,231. The rifle came with a highwood stock. I can see what looks like a Q and a couple more letters in the sling cutout but I can't make it out. No markings on the handguard. The trigger housing is a purplish color with a letter N with a 9 below it. Hammer has what looks like a B/R with a circle around it. Safety has a W. Mag release has what looks like a W with a smaller WA beside it. The markings on the mag release are double stamped also. Rear sight is stamped and has an H in a shield. Barrel band has a KI. Front sight has IA on it and is mounted backwards on the barrel (can I fix this myself?). I can't find any markings on the barrel but the bore is bright and shiney. There is a tiny import marking on the under side of the barrel but I can't read it. It does not look like the Arlington Ordnance import mark.

Q-RMC is probably what is marked in the slingwell for Quality Hardware nice Higwood stock. BTW those are worth a few hundred $$$. National Postal Meter trigger housing the purple color is what the part looked like before the Parkerizing was applied replacement mag release. the hammer is a Rock-Ola carbine (contract) item, the rear sight H in sheild is a Winhester contract item made by Hemphill. yes, you can turn the front sight around, just drift out the pin, use a block of hardwood or a Brass drift preferrably and drive off the sight. nice carbine. the imports aren't bad i just picked up a Standard Products import yesterday looked like hell when i got brought it home put in a spare W.W.2 stock fixed a compressed trigger spring issue cleaned out what was left of the dead spider that was living inside the magwell. one of the better shooting carbine i've ever owned and i've owned and own quite a few.

Thanks for the info stuinflorida. So I guess my carbine was suppose to be parkerized but never got to that stage since it still has a puplish coloring. Post a photo of your new carbine too. Would love to see it.

You have a very unusual mixmaster. It has all the late model modifications with a high wood stock and no repark job. Whomever owned this particular carbine kept it out of the Army ordinance pipeline. It was probably a private import and not one of the surplus imports that came back post '68.

*Note: I am by no means a Carbine guru.*

My CMP Inland (ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=6&t=222793) with late features has thin parkerizing, almost non-existant in some places, like the barrel.

I decided to put the high wood stock on another rifle and put this Inland stock on the Winny until I get a Winchester stock. I also added a Winchester fire control group. Now to get that front sight fixed..........

I put the high wood stock on my early Inand M1 Carbine.........
