I purchased an RCBS 3 way cutter the other day after comparing the threads with my LnL trimmer cutter and even though the threads aren't the exact same as my Hornady LnL trimmer it's close enough(3 way cutter threads are a tad smaller but almost exact same pitch) and it screws in nicely and the bevel on the backside of the cutter centers it in the shaft perfectly when it gets tight.
So I setup the cutters deburr & length of cut and trimmed a few pieces of brass and this thing is amazing, it cuts very fast and smooth and gives a perfect inside chamfer and outside deburr every time. You can get the different sized pilots for all of your calibers for about $10-12 each and setup is quick simple, I don't see how anyone would spend so much on the expensive trimmers that chamfer and deburr while trimming when this device can be bought so cheap and it works outstanding. I even just got through buying the high $ Hornady premium cutter, but it even doesn't compare to the RCBS 3 way trimmer head. So anyone with an RCBS or Hornady LnL case trimmers I highly recommend this upgrade, no combo of trimming and then chamfering and deburring comes close to this setup and I have tried a few(Lee, Hornady, Lyman, Foster, Wilson) but all fell short, this setup by hand is faster than the others using powdered trimming and then powdered chamfering and deburring(trim mate). Just mu review of the RCBS 3 way trimmer head/cutter. |
