Anyone get a chance to test one?
Are they getting sub MOA?
What do you think of them?

First batch seems to have gone to Canada, apparently the distributor there put in a big preorder way back when.

The pics in this thread this thread seem to indicate sub-MOA performance.  Hopefully this will hold up as production levels spool up.

In that case the world has been upside down for a lot longer than just since the release of the XCR-M.

Paging our friends from up north to elaborate on the various cool things up there that we can't get.

Anyone know if the 308 Pmag works in this gun?
Assuming it does since it uses the DPMS mag.
Anyone got a price?

Initial reports from our northern brothers have been positive.

I think the price is around $2200.   Seems like it is really well done.  Every minor complaint with the L seems to have been addressed in the M.   I was not considering it...but now i find myself thinking it over...

Well thats sounds good, especially since i've never had a major problem with mine.
I had a minor problem with one of them, one phone call & they sent me the part.
Getting very interested in this. Specs on it say it's .24 pounds lighter than my LAR-8.

When does that new stock become available? I hated the stock on the original XCR, and it kept me from buying one.

I personally witnessed the new XCR-M shoot a 4.25" group at 600 yards.  And yes it had the new scope.

The FAST stock is standard I do believe and the tube stock is an available option. The FAST stock is also available separately for those wanting one for their pre 2012 XCR-L rifles.

FWIW adapters are also available in ether fixed or side folding to install the AR stock of your choice.

4.25'' at 600 yds. will work, I'll be more then happy with that.

I have the xcr light with 10.5" barrel, and preordered the new fast stock. Just got the confirmation email last week, should have it by the end of this week. When money allows I will be buying the xcr medium with a 13" barrel.

Let me just go ahead and say I love my xcr so much that I have sold off my acr, all my ar15s and aks, and it is my only rifle right now. Most people that knock them have never owned them. as usual ymmv

Yep, I sold 2 of 4 AR's to help fund our 2 XCR's.
Now I will do the same with my LAR-8's (though they are great) to fund my XCR-M's.

I never had a major problem even during break-in, i run any kind of ammo through it at the 2 setting.
It's the best of every system before, with none of the stuff i didnt like about the AR/FAL/AK.

I had a part that i guess wasnt heat treated properly break on me, thing is, the gun still ran. One phone call
and they sent me a new one same week. 2nd one never had a problem with at all. About 1K rounds thru each now.

I had ADCO flute the barrels for me too, decent improvement.

I know, a .308 not with a 20" barrel. That just sounds wrong doesn't it?

I know I had the same concerns being a former 24" bolt gun guy.
If you look a few posts back there is a link to another site with some pretty good groups out it.
Looks like they will be okay with the 18.5".

I'm fairly certain a moderate handload will easily stay supersonic out to 800-900 meters. Good handloads should be fine beyond that as well.

Don't quote me on that though.

Depends on what you want it to do at max range and where you shoot.

Punching paper?  1000yd has been done with an 18" .308.  Realistic target shooting I would say 600-800yd.  Hunting deer or smaller, maybe 400-500.  If you aren't fighting the wind, all that needs to be done is aim higher!

I think we can assume it'll push a 168 SMK roughly 2525fps.  At sea level, supersonic to just under 900yd.   1000 ft/lb energy to 490yd.  1800fps ('reliable' expansion/fragmentation) to 400yd.

Go up to 5000ft and you're supersonic beyond 1200yd (according to JBM G1 table)...

This is all correct here guys. I once hit an ipsc size piece of steel at Tac-Pro from a 1000 yds with my
LAR-8. 20 inch barrel. Had Leupold M3 knob maxed out at 1K setting, and i think i was holding over 2 mil dots above it. 10 mph cross wind but managed to shoot between
the gusts.
Now that was 1 for 4 and certainly not precision shooting.
I found that I could use it reliably out to 700.

My 24" PSS would hold about 11" groups at 1000 after i had it worked, and that was with no holdover, just center cross hair on 1K setting.

But it's all ammo/ barrel combination. I had a heavy barrel Bushmaster AR in 5.56 ETA-16 inch that could hit larue's with iron sights at 500 yards off hand.
It loved the 62 gns.

I also had an AR10 once with an obermyer barrel that would shoot 1/2 moa at 100. No one would believe me till i started carrying the group in my wallet.
I sold that to a bench rest guy.

I know the Larue OBR will shoot real well with a shorter barrel from people who have told me.

If they put a good, smooth barrel on the XCR-M combined with the right hand load for it, who knows what it could do.
Like you said, depends on what your doing with it.

ETA; that 1K shot with the LAR-8 was downhill. Totally different than shooting straight across. So again, like you said, depends on where your shooting.

My bet is 18.6 barrel length is the first run for (a) Canadian import laws. The Canadian importer pre purchased the first lot well before they were made. and (b) marketing purposes, because nearly everyone loves a carbine and

FWIW I have always liked 18" better than 16" for .308 carbines as the velocity loss is too great for my liking with a 16" barrel.
18" just seemed to be the sweet spot between the barrel stiffness of the 16" and the velocity of the 20"

I would prefer a 20" over the 18" if i could get one.
If I had a second it would be 16" total overall.

20" barreled "M" on order!
I believe all the barrels for the "M" are 416 stainless and then polished. Thats what i was told.
Which would explain why people are getting such good groups out of them.
