Nice.  Where did you get your barrel fluted?  Also which trijicon is that?  Looks like you went with the 6.5G kit, how do you like that caliber.

Those are 6.5 rounds and mags, but I don't have the kit yet.  That's a 5.56 barrel.

The last update is that they hope to have them available by Christmas. Like any new product, unforseen delays may occur.

I demand to know where you got the skull stencil.

My brigade of bullet-dodging groundhogs will be over to collect the stencils in the morning.  Leave the stencils and two peanut-butter sandwhiches on the back porch and pretend like nothing is wrong.

Seriously dude, that ROCKS!!!

I've only said this three times in my life about a gun.

Brother when I look at this, I get wood!

And yes, I paint... and I have an extra M4 that will be in a similar scheme very soon.

Thanks for the idea's and if you don't mind I might play with the skull too!

Good looking colors I will look into that for my future m4, if you dont mind. the gray looks lighter in the pics than it does on the duracoat web site.

The gray is a little darker and greener in person.  I'll try to get some outdoor pics sometime.

GS, it's difficult to tell with the white balance in those photos...but is that Olive Grey slightly green as the name would imply?

I'm working on picking colors for a future Urban Digital I hope to do (on a future AR), and I'm looking for 3 distinct shades/tints of grey. I'm limiting my use of black because I want it Grey, Grey, Grey with a couple black specs. My own version of Urban Digital.

It is greener than the pictures show.  I'll try to get some outdoor shots without the harsh lighting.

Thanks.

I wish I could see these colors in person. I'm probably going to pick colors based on internet photos, and I'm betting I'll buy the wrong colors first try. But then again, I can probably mix and tint these myself to get what I want...I just won't be able to replicate those colors in the future.

Cripes that's beautiful!

Gr8, when you painted the stock and grip, what was the original plastic color?

Also, does duracoat chip or flake off of plastic? I'm afraid I've never used it before.

I was going to do my XCR in FDE using Magpul accessories over the original black XCR, but that just changed. I'm going to go for some kind of hybrid between FDE and urban grey (such as it looks in the picks rather than in real life). I guess those FDE PMags I got for it will have to go for one of my new AR lowers, and USGI's coming back to the XCR.

LOL! I can't wait to begin doing crap like this!

Uh........ Is it difficult?

ETA: Forgot to ask. You say that's a 5.56 barrel. Is it a standard weight or a heavyweight? You didn't have it cut back either, did you?

When I got mine, there was only the standard weight. If I can get that look without having to blow $350+ for a new barrel, I'd be very happy.

It's very durable on plastic.  I lightly sand the parts, then degrease them thoroughly with denatured alcohol.

Not at all if you take your time and prep correctly.  It's incredibly easy, actually.

It's a HBAR fluted by ADCO.  No, it's an 18.6" barrel

If you want to get an HBAR, you could probably recoup much of the cost by selling your light barrel at xcrforum.com.
Good luck with your XCR.  Please post pics when you're done.

I'm kind of confused.  Are you saying that the Hbar or light barrel is worth more?  How much are people paying for each one?
Thanks!

HBARS cost more, but most believe that the thin barrel is just as accurate.
