Has any of you used bullets from Extreme Bullets?
I've been shooting them and they seem very good. |
|
I used Berrys for a long time, great quality and good selection. One time they were out of 44mag and I got some from xtreme and they were a good price and very good quality. IMO Berrys and Xtreme have the best copper plated boolets out there at the best price. Xtreme has a nice 44mag boolet that has a nice RN with a blunt tip and a canalure which is better. For 9mm RN and 45ACP RN they are both very good. The boolets are consistent in size and weight and have a good copper plating. Xtreme is running some boolet specials and only $5 shipping, so IMO they are GTG.
The worst boolets I have every had was from RMR, 2000 9mm RN 115gr that had a lot of 124gr, 147gr, and blems. It was a pain for reloading to have to remove all the bad boolets in the batch. I sent an email to RMR and all I got was "that was a bad batch'. So I will never buy anything from RMR ever. They sell a lot here on EE, so would have to say be warned. |
|
Best/thickest and cheapest prices on plated pistol boolits until recently.
Very consistent and accurate in my experience with .45 .40 and 9mm. They jumped on the plus shipping bandwagon and haven't seen anymore 15% off coupons. Looking at the many other now cheaper options out there. Hi Tec coating seems to be the rage now. |

I've been buying/shooting RMR bullets for a year now with zero issues. I was under the impression that they sold Extreme bullets? I could be wrong (probably am). In any case, I love RMR plated bullets. They shoot great and no issues so far. |

| That's all my wife and I have been shooting for USPSA and practice for the last 6 months or so. I've loaded about 3500 of the 9mm 124gr. RN over Red Dot and 1500 of the .45 230gr. RN over Unique, plus some .40 S&W HP bullets. I live a couple hours from the factory in Carson City, so whenever I get over that way during the week I stop and pick some up. They're cheap and they work extremely well. Even their 55gr. FMJ bullets look good, I have 500 but haven't had a chance to load them yet. |

Nope, but it's still a question of why do you 'need' plated when some of the newer (Hi-Tek, not really new, been in use in AU forever) coatings work just fine? I've shot a good amount of Xtremes, and have 3k on their way to me currently. I have a pretty decent 9mm 124gr RN load worked up for them, and a couple in 135 and 147gr. So far, I can't manage a decent load with their HPs at all (compared to jacketed, or their RNs). Bayou or SNS coated bullets are cheaper (by the case), and as accurate, or moreso. When Xtreme runs a decent sale, they're a pretty good deal, but not the only option. The $5 flat rate shipping isn't too bad, but it does mean don't bother for only 500 bullets, and their shipping is SLOW...takes about 2 weeks before I get my orders. YMMV as always - not bad bullets, and priced reasonably, more or less the same as Bayou Coated bullets (at least in 9mm) under their new pricing, but free shipping w/Bayou, not so w/Xtreme now...and the $5 flat rate is being claimed for a limited time. If the shipping rate increases, I'll likely buy them only when a 10%+ sale comes along, otherwise just buy Hi-Tek coated bullets for slightly less. |

If the factory is in Nevada, how come all my orders ship from Idaho? Hmmmmm One of the last times that I was there she said that they had been bought but nothing was expected to change. There may be more than one factory using the name now. The factory is located at 25 stokes drive, Moundhouse NV. |

One of the places that carries reloading supplies had a bunch of Xtreme plated 115 gr 9mm bullets for a very reasonable price, I bought 500 to try them out. They look good, I loaded 200 of them a couple of days ago to try them out, hopefully I'll get out soon and try them out. |

My orders seems to always ship from WA state...no clue why, and it certainly doesn't speed up time from order to delivery any... Not the end of the world, as I don't wait until I'm nearly out before ordering bullets, but worth keeping in mind so no one's surprised if it takes 1-2 weeks to arrive. |

They have a new factory in Lewiston, ID which is just over the border from Spokane, WA. The UPS hub that serves Lewiston is in Spokane, which is why it looks like they're coming from WA. And back on topic, I have been very happy with the .38 caliber 158gn SWCs that I've loaded up. I haven't loaded any of the 230gn .45s or RN .38s I purchased yet, but looking at them they appear to be quality. |
| I've bought boxes of 114 and 124 gr Extremes for 9mm. Have loaded up 500 but haven't shot any in my High Power yet. The only issue I had/have is that the RCBS seater plug doesn't quite fit the bullet tip correctly and flattens it just a tad. Not an issue with plinking rounds but I'm hoping to find a better fitting plug if I can. |

Has anyone shot these out of HK Pistols and/or HK MP5s. I have been loading jacketed bullets for the HKs. Just got in a sear read MP4/40 so I want to gear up for reloading 40s. Plated bullets maybe a cheaper solution if they run in HKs.
How are extremes 55 gr .FMJ bullets? Dane |

All shot groups were a bout an inch and I was hitting 8" metal plates all day at 125 yards. I order exclusively from Xtreme for range ammo. |

Did not shoot them at paper from a rest, but simply loaded my standard HK load (3.9gr Bullseye) and shot off hand at cans and steel plates. Shot the same as 115gr fmj round nose bullets. I also shoot plated 9mm bullets in my Sterling L2A3 and 45cal plated bullets in the M1A1 TSMG, again, no problems using the same load as I do with fmj bullets of the same weight. |

It was a pain for reloading to have to remove all the bad boolets in the batch. I sent an email to RMR and all I got was "that was a bad batch'. So I will never buy anything from RMR ever. They sell a lot here on EE, so would have to say be warned. To be fair it sounds like you bought pulled bullets and they have a disclaimer on the product page that there may be some sorting required. I've never had an issue with the berrys they sell |

Not sure about other calibers |

Love Xtreme bullets!
Sign up for their news letter and you will get notifications about bullets on sale. They had 17% off bullets on Black Friday last year. I hope they do that again! $5 shipping on all orders too. No problems shooting through my Glocks, Walther PPQ, Sig 226, or Steyr L9A1... can't imagine they wouldn't be fine for HK's also. |
