With money playing no factor in your decision, which maker would you buy your AR-15 OR M4 type from and why?  What is considered the " hands down best brand" everyone would want? Dumb question?,, just wondering.

Welcome to AR15

If money was not option, or import laws I would like to own a HK M416.

But HK will not sell those here.

If money is still not a factor a Colt 6920 would be nice.

colts are good IF you get the law enforcement rifles that actually use GI spec parts(some of the civillian marketed ones intentionally use parts that are of a different design than standard, making replacement a bit of a pain).  Bushmaster and Rock River Arms both make excellent rifles that are (in my opinion and experience) every bit as good as the Colt for less money.

Red, where have you been? The law enforcement Colt's use the large pin parts as well..

I'd go with RRA.  I've been issued Colt's and Bushmasters and while there is nothing wrong with either of them, I did some comparisons and I like some of the features I got on the RRA:

-Excellent fit & finish
-Fantastic 2 stage NM trigger
-Star selector
-Good price
-Good warranty

RRA no question. I also have a Bushmaster but the RRA has a better finish.

I bought my M4 from J&T. Why? Because they're nice folks & they're a sponsor for arfcom!

Off the shelf I'd buy RRA or an LE Colt. But I would rather build my own with the best components I can get.
Oh yeah, it also depends on what configuration you want (ie, no light profile barrels at RRA).

Another vote for Rock River Arms.
I also have Colts and Bushmasters but these days
my hands down choice would be RRA.

I personally own a RRA, and love it.  I'm having trouble getting used to the finish of the firearm though, as its not what I'm accustomed to.  Maybe after some more rounds it'll smooth in.
